South Sudan
In light of our great purpose for long term discipleship in the 10/40 Window, we are intentionally being more aware of crises in the 10/40 Window and continually searching for ways that a response to the crises could open up opportunities for long term work. Currently, with a partner organization, we are responding to a humanitarian crisis in South Sudan.
South Sudan and Sudan have been experiencing ongoing internal conflicts, creating widespread suffering and urgent needs. We’ve been focusing on opportunities to work with refugees and address the crisis caused by the civil war in Sudan.
We have connected with a camp of around 1200 households in the Upper Nile region of South Sudan. The camp is home to a mix of people—some originally from South Sudan who fled to Sudan because of the wars in South Sudan and are now returning due to the war in Sudan. There are also people from Sudan who have fled the conflict there.
